The Story Behind the Songs
One question I get asked sometimes is, “Where do your songs come from?”
The honest answer is — life.
Not the dramatic, movie-style version of life. Just everyday moments, thoughts, reflections, and feelings that most of us carry quietly. A phrase that sticks in my head. A mood I can’t quite shake. A memory that returns out of nowhere. That’s often where a song begins.
I don’t sit down with a big plan to write something grand. Most songs start small and grow naturally. Sometimes a melody appears first. Sometimes it’s a line that feels meaningful. Sometimes it’s just a feeling that needs somewhere to go.
Music, for me, is a way of expressing things that don’t always fit neatly into conversation. Not everything needs to be explained out loud — sometimes it’s better said in a song.
That’s also why I recently put together my book Your Name in Every Song. It explores the thoughts and meanings behind many of my tracks. Not to over-explain them, but to share where they began for me. Once a song is released, listeners bring their own stories to it — and that’s how it should be.
I’ve never written music to chase trends or numbers. I write because I enjoy the process and because it feels honest. If a song connects with someone, even quietly, that’s enough.
Music doesn’t always need to be loud to matter.
Sometimes it just needs to be real.
Thanks to everyone who listens, reads, and supports what I do. It genuinely means more than you might realise.

The stories woven in words
Why I Wrote Your Name in Every Song
People often see the finished song, but not the journey behind it.
Every track starts somewhere — a thought, a memory, a feeling, a moment in life that leaves a mark. Over time, I realised many of my songs weren’t just music; they were reflections of where I was in life at that point.
That’s what led me to write Your Name in Every Song.
The book isn’t about fame, charts, or the music industry. It’s about the meaning behind the songs. The real-life moments that shaped them. The quiet thoughts that turn into lyrics. The reasons a melody exists in the first place.
Some songs come from love.
Some from reflection.
Some from simple everyday moments that stay with you longer than expected.
I wanted to open the door slightly and share where those songs began for me. Not to define them for listeners — because once a song is out in the world, it belongs to the listener too — but to show the starting point.
Music can be like a diary you don’t always realise you’re writing. Looking back at these songs, I could see chapters of life captured in sound. Turning that into a book felt natural.
If you enjoy music that comes from real moments and honest reflection, this book might resonate with you. It’s a calm, thoughtful read — something you can dip into while listening to the songs themselves.
At the end of the day, this project was about sharing the story behind the sound.
Because sometimes the meaning behind a song is just as interesting as the song itself.
